  • Incidently i don't know any shop staff who are only paid when actually serving a customer.
there is more to work than serving cutomers like making their service areas clean, stacking shelves, pricing goods
The OP is working from 7am - 11.00pm officially she says. That in itself is wrong. I don't see being on call as the issue here, but the 16 hour days
if we can get more from the op then we can find out exactly what she does.
  • Thank you all for your advice. I must point out that this is not a live a live-in position, when I finish at 9am I go home to my family and my bills! I do get breakfast on weekdays and lunch and supper on Sundays but thats it.

I havent actually signed anything yet as I am refusing to do so until I know exactly what I am signing up for (or signing away), but ACAS, although helpful to a point, were not really able to offer any real answer and suggested I try the DTI (which is like a nightmare to navigate to the right page I have so far spent 5 hours reading the various articles and still havent found a definitive answer).

Anyway thank you all for your time and efforts I really do appreciate it.
