why have yorkshire bank change the name on the card from maestro to mastercard. why haven't they sent me a replacement card as my partner received his a couple of months ago.
why change something when it is not necessary in my opinion.
only reason i am venting is because i have used my mastro card both at an ATM AND AT local supermarket with no problems then yesterday went to do my food shopping and get money out of ATM and it would let me use it.
has anyone else had this problem with yorkshire bank or is it just me?:mad::mad:

Are we talking credit or debit card here?0

What time did you use a cash machine? On the bank account forum, someone has said the LINK ATM system went down for a couple of hours yesterday so no cashpoints worked apparently.0

Yup there were ATM problems yesterday morning when the LINK system went down for a while.
Yorkshire bank and Clydesdale bank are switching everyone over from Maestro to a Debit Mastercard and have been doing so since last year and will finish the switch over sometime next year (Maestro is Mastercard anyway) and most other banks who used Maestro are now switching to Visa Debit.
In most other countries, a Maestro card is no better than a Visa Electron card and some foreign nationals have problems using their cards here in the UK.
Mastercard is infinitely better than Maestro anyway IMO.Remember this: nothing worth doing is easy.0
