Parking Manchester Terminal 2

Hi

Anyone got any recommendations/warnings about parking near airport?

Cost aside for the moment as I can get various discounts through mine/hubby's workplaces. I'm more interested if there is any company someone would really recommend as being very helpful or any that turned into a nightmare.

We would be arriving there 6am ish and be wanting to get back to the car park after holiday about 8.30am ish.

It's the first time we've had to use the carparks we've normally had a lift or used a taxi......lift not available anymore and cheaper to leave car than get a taxi.

Thanks for any replies:T

I've used APH a few times. It's secure parking a few miles from the airport with shuttle bus. Alse used SkyParks previously. I've never had a problem with any of them but would warn to allow a reasonable bit of time. The blurb will say buses every 10-15 mins, but you need to allow time to book in at the car park, then there's the bus journey itself and Terminal 2 is usually the last drop off, and then because of the airport layout there's a walk to the terminal building check in desks. We usually plan to get to the car park about 45 mins before we want to check in, just to be on the safe side. Purple parking has had a few recommendations on here but I've not used them myself. There's also other options that are more direct at the terminal, where you hand you car to be taken and parked, but again I've not used them and you then pay more for that convenience

We've used Purple Parking's Meet & Greet service twice now without any problems. We've found it so handy and convenient just having to drop the car off at the airport (T2) short stay Arrivals carpark and then having it waiting for us there on our return. We will definitely use this service again the next time we travel from Manchester.

We've used them a few times it's a great service.
You ring them 15 mins before you arrive at your terminal & they're there to pick up your car & park it for you. No messing about having to get a shuttle bus.
On your return you ring them when you've collected your luggage & when you get outside they're there with your car!

We used the offsite parking - Q Park flyaway. (i think its changed its name now)

Was easy to use, with shuttle bus between carpark and terminals.

  • Just a warning about a company called Vacation care.
We actually booked a Meet and Greet service through Sky Airport Parking. These were the agents and the actual service was provided by Vacation Care. The service was very efficient and no problems at first - just call them before arrival at the terminal, remove your baggage, have a look around your car and hand over the keys.

The reverse process was carried out when we arrived home, it was then that we discovered that both front alloys had been severely curbed! The driver didn't want to know and said the owner of the business would call us the following day. He did eventually call, but was very aggressive and denied that they were responsible.

After we sent photographs of the damage (very clear that damage was new and also could see the cement marks from the curbs) he admitted that they were responsible and asked that we have the wheels repaired and send him the bill. This we did back in April, but despite constant calls and e:mails we have still not received any re-imbursement.

So beware, Vacation Care certainly don't care for your car!
  • I use Shenton's Peacock Farm. It's a small family firm, very friendly and reliable. There's a short minibus ride to the airport (we've usually been the only passengers.) On arriving back in the UK, you ring them when you've got your luggage and they meet you outside. They've even de-iced the car and warmed it up when we've been away in the winter. They don't accept cards though - it's payment by cash or cheque when you drop your car off.

If price is not an issue then you might as well park on the airport, its nearly as cheap and you dont have any transfers.

I agree - look at the prices for the Short Stay Car Parks next to the terminals (Multi-Storey Saver), then can be quite reasonable compared to external Meet & Greet services. And your car is waiting for you when you get back.

Also worth looking at on the airport's own Meet & Greet and VIP Valet - these are the same parking! The only difference is that you get a Fastpass for the security queue with the VIP service. At T2 the parking area is right by the entrance to the terminal and your car is always ready for you in the same area when you return - no need to ring ahead to get it delivered.

I use the Meet & Greet and the Multi-Storey Savers parking for work and leisure. You may save a few ££ by parking offsite, but you'll pay for that by waiting for transfer buses or people to bring your car back from deepest Wythenshawe........

https://www.manchesterairport.co.uk/Shop/MAN/Parking to search for your dates - it should give you all the options and prices.
