Disneyland Paris Meal Plans

Hi

We have always done WDW Florida, but are on a budget this year so are doing Disneyland Paris. We are staying in the Sequoia Lodge from 26th July for 7 nights and have bought half board plus meal plan for all of us. I have a couple of questions:

- We prefer to eat late morning when on holiday, so is it possible to take our breakfast vouchers and use them in the parks, and pay the difference, so we can eat about 11 -12 ish?
- Are we limited to a set menu for dinner? Eg: do we get as much choice on the menu as someone paying as they go?
- Will we have to pay any extra for dinners or does the voucher cover it all? (except wine of course)
- Do we have to pre-book our dinner table everday in order to use the vouchers?

We have done Disneyland Paris before but it was about 5 years ago and never stayed on site. I was quite excited at the prospect of onsite privileges, combined with paying up front for our food. BUT after reading some of the posts on here I am starting to worry that we are going to end up supplementing our food bill substantially!

Please someone allay my fears and tell me that its all good!! Or failing that just tell me the truth lol

you don't get breakfast vouchers at all on the half board plans at DLP - you have to take breakfast in your hotel, or lose that meal for free.

at buffet restaurants you get the same as anyone else, but at table service you are given a restricted menu if paying in full with half board vouchers

- Will we have to pay any extra for dinners or does the voucher cover it all? (except wine of course)

usually no, your meal and a soft drink is covered with your voucher

- Do we have to pre-book our dinner table everday in order to use the vouchers?
no you don't but you'd be best to book if you want to eat in the evening after around 7pm, as thats the busiest time for diners at DLP, all over the resort.

The honest truth is, nowadays the half board plans at DLP are not that great, but at least you know your main meal is already paid for.

We've never done half board, but have been to the park several times. Breakfast is self service so make the most of it. Lots of people take something out with them for later, though we never have.
We generally have a good breakfast and evening meal, and just a snack for lunch. Depending on how you travel you could take some snaoycks with you. We always drive so take plenty of snack bars, some fruit (as its virtually impossible to buy it in the park!) and crisps, some juice to dilute and drinks bottles to take into the park - oh and few packs of sweets for leeping kids happy while waiting for things! We also take a couple of pot noodle type things in case we are still peckish later, and buy wine at the tunnel. If you are stuck for space you can buy some snacks at the Esso garage by the Santa Fe or the station - cheaper than on park. There is kettle in room, but supplies are always limited so maybe take something else to drink, eg more coffee or instant hot choc.
I'd say it doesn't have to be a nightmare, just go a bit prepared. The food will not be the best you've ever had in most cases, and a sarnie from the garage will be definately cheaper to take in for lunch!

Can anyone please advise me if I can purchase the meal vouchers for disneyland paris. I have already booked and paid for the holiday but did not take the meal option at the time of booking via disneyland website. many thanks in advance

I think as already said the meal vouchers aren't that good in terms of value but you are all budgeted which is a great feeling

You don't have to book your meals in but I would certainly recommend that you do so, especially if you want to eat somewhere like Cafe Mickey. Most table service will offer a set Half Board menu, I'm sure I've heard people say that they have used meal vouchers at face value and ordered off the general menu, check this out though as I've never done it myself.

Breakfast has to be used in the hotel, I recommend and early one then in the park for extra magic hours and multiple go's on Buzz :j

yes you can add the meal plan to your existing booking. You just call Disney and they will add it. You need to pay at the time you add the meal plan, and you need to do this at the latest a couple of days before your check-in date.
