Dunno mate, Chrome is a browser not a search engine. Google standard ?? Oh, IE not used, I see. Why not ask again as you are confusing me. Ask is set to your default search engine then....

Go to options at the top right of the browser (it's the little spanner icon), then click on basics, which is the first tab. Look at 'default search' and change it to Google or whichever one you prefer... .

I think the OP meant they did have Google as a homepage but now its been set to ask.com (no doubt piggybacked by installing some free software) Or means the in built search bar has been set to ask, which can be simply changed back via your options/settings. It is a little bit of a confusing question though

OP has either installed or upgraded some free software and missed the option NOT to have ask.com as their default search engine. They'll probably find an ask.com toolbar has also been installed
