Package received from FedEx

Hi,
On the 1st July 2010 I received 2 packages from FedEx which were both addressed to me and signed for by me. I pressumed they were both from my employer as I was expecting a delivery. Yesterday I was tidying up and thought that I would take the package out of the box it came in and found out that it wasn't from my employer. I went on to FedEx website and put in the tracking code and low and behold it said it was sent from the US and signed by me. I have contacted the supplier to say I have their product but haven't heard a thing from them. People have told me that I can accept this as an unsolicited gift according to the consumer protection act.
I really don't know what to do and was looking for some advice hope someone can help.

I would just be honest and wait until they can contact you back, or try contacting them again, the goods are not yours and they should arrange for the goods to be picked up.Is a Bipolar bear0

Not so, the goods are yours if you wish to keep them.
Better advice here:

As above, I believe it's only if the sender can't be bothered to arrange collection or leaves it too long that the goods become yours.
EDIT: That Consumer Direct article is good advice, inform them by letter and then wait. If they don't arrange collection (perhaps leave a couple of months as good will and to avoid argument and unwarranted demands for payment) then the goods are yours.0 -
I think what we all want to know is what were the 2 packes contents?0

You've already contacted the sender, so I'd just wait 6 months then consider them yours.
I think you have to keep them safe for 6 months though, should they ask for them back (at their own expense and your convenience...)
What was it??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

thanks for all the posts they have helped, 1 of the packages was from my employer which was a tool kit the other was 18 sets of Bose Aviation X headsets worth $900 dollars each. I have already sent Bose customer services an e-mail so just waiting to hear back from them. Once again thanks0

Do the unsolicited goods regulations apply to deliveries from overseas?0
