Has anyone got or tried ones of electronic sonic collars? They beep every 7 seconds to alert birds of stalking cats. I am thinking of getting them for 2 of my 3 cats, but don't want to be wasting money if they are useless. Just opinions please, thanks

I'd like to know too please. We are receiving too many kills recently - although the cats do sometimes eat them as well.0

There was a thread about this a while back:

Not sure if this is any good - 7 sec is a longgggggg time0 -
After receiving many feathered gifts the collar we brought was £40.00 each, watched the cats work as a team to remove one of them. this happened on the first day of wearing.
Then neighbours cat collar got caught on fence trellis, it took three adults and scissors to rescue.
So cats are all collar free, neighbour comes to remove gifts!!0 -
In case anyone thinks a bell collar is useless, RSPB say they reduce kills by 42-48 %. Well worth it. Best though to keep moggy in from dusk to dawn. Not only birds but Shrews etc. will be spared.0

Oh - my indoor cat thought he was in for a treat when one day a mouse somehow got into our 1st floor flat....
Poor thng got stuck (was hiding?) between a wall and the radiator pipes, behind the setee... only its little tail sticking a bit out - at 2 am when I noticed the cat trying to get behind the sette with MURDER in his eyes I noticed the poor mouse.. It was a tiney field mouse so.....
Woke up my daughter and her boyfriend, I pulled the settee off, boyfriend got the muse by its tail, daughter had a container ready and a lid.
They let the poor creature out in the communal garden, but Tiger was upset with us for few days as we spoilt his late night snack
When I had cats whle living in a house - they all had bell collars, they would help but cats still brought me pressies and it was lovely-not to find a dead bird or a mouse on my pillow - wake up facing some dead body and a very happy proud cat next to it... brrrrrrrrrr
BUT - I generally do not like colars on cats because I had incidents that cat's collar got stuck on a fence, tree branch etc and this is dangerous.. for the cat, even the so called "safety" collars can fail and do not unclip when cat gets stuck...
Can not really win....0 -
Ive had my cat recently get to baby birds from there nest's one he killed or it died of shock and the second he was sitting on and guarding it, collars with noises or bells wouldnt have stopped that happening, i have removed my cats collars as one got his mouth caught on it as he detested having it on, it struggled so much to get the collar out of his mouth he cut his gums so i removed and said i wouldnt have them wearing them again... my pals also found her cat hanging from a tree dead from its collar...Mum of 2 adorable children & 2 cheeky cats who were born on 23.04.2009 :rotfl:0

Fabulous! I googled Liberator cat collar and found petplanet sell them which is where I already buy stuff from usually. Annoying thing is I went there first of all and searched for sonic collar, cat collars, and another number of search terms including 'birds' and nothing came up! Going to order that collar now! Thanks
Oh... the liberator is discontinued...0 -
Hi, but isn't this website saying that this product is discontinued?
Would love to know if you managed to order one.0
