Costs for gas/electric for a single person living in Sheffield?

Hey,

I'm about to move to my own place, and I need an idea of how much I will be spending each month on utility bills.

I privately rented for a year when I was living away at university - three of us were getting electricity bills of £150+ per month when we were constantly freezing and barely turned on the hot water - which has obviously traumatised me a bit about receiving bills!

So I'm wondering if anyone could give me a ball park figure on how much I can expect to spend on gas and electricity in a one or two bed house/apartment.

Thanks!

    hi,
i live in the nothwest, gas and electric combined is £40 per month, think there is discount for online billing and having both with same company.

    good luck.
  • Thanks Gem - if mine are that cheap I'll be happy! Once I get a place I'll have to look round to find the best deals. I have a feeling I'm not going to be that lucky though & am going to have bills through the roof.. eek. We'll see..!
