Can you recommend a USB stick or MP3

Can anyone recommend a USB stick or MP3 player, compatiable with the PC and MAC, my partner is going to college on monday to study music production and needs to be able to transfer the work he does on the college MACs to his PC. He is looking for something to hold about 1GB and reasonably priced.

Thanks

Apple Shuffle. I've got both an iPod and a Shuffle (1Gb version), but use the Shuffle loads.

It's basically a USB key that has the functionality to play music. I take it everywhere with me. The 1gb version is around £60 these days.

If you look on eBay you can pick them up much cheaper, probably nearer £30-40.

I think he was a bit put off by the shuffle as it 'shuffles' which is great for downloading music but will he be able to switch the shuffle off to find his own music.

    Hope that makes sense :D

You can setup playlists, or just listen to it sequentially.

It is restricted though due to the lack of screen.

  • If you are going to get a flash disk make sure it is well made as they are very easily damaged around the USB connector part thingy. I would recommend the Sandisk Cruiser Titanium of which I have the older version. It is very solidly made.
  • Try mymemory - they have very cheap usb sticks and other memory devices.

SVP have 1GB pen drives from about £11.

Also have Freecom DataCards, which look like credit cards but the USB connector pops out and its a 256mb-2GB storage drive :D. About twice the price of a pen drive though :(

I'm waiting for those to go down in price before I buy one.
