Moving Banks

I currently bank with Abbey (Santander) and have had loads of problems with them. Their customer service is appalling!
I would really like to change banks but the problem is I am currently up to the limit of my £2000 overdraft. Will I have to wait until I have cleared my overdraft before moving banks or is there any bank that will take me on with my debt?
I have over £2000 paid into the account every month but it all gets swallowed up into the overdraft.

If the main reason is to bank somewhere else, then opening a basic bank account will relatively easy even if you have the overdraft. To increase your chances of getting a current a/c say that you do not want an overdraft....0
