Just if anyone wondered, this morning between around 10 and 12, the entire LINK UK ATM, and Point Of Sale debit & credit card system went offline, causing ATM withdrawals and point of sale transactions to fail :)

Yes we noticed this when we we're in Hexham this morning. Couldn't get any cash out to do my shopping at the farmers market!

It can't have done. I used an ATM at around 11.30 am and it worked fine.

Think on the positive side. How much money did everyone save as a result of this?

There are so many systems (Link, Visa, Mastercard, Switch, AMEX), it would be almost impossible for EVERYONE's access to stop working. I certainly managed to use my Visa debit card in several shops yesterday around 10:30am - 11am and even used an ATM.
