How long from Woolwich survey to mortgage offer

Had an Agreement in principle from Woolwich for a mortgage, found a property, filled in application form on the 15th June, all the credit checks have been done and the survey is set for 13th July, assuming all this is good how long will it be before the offer is made,
We are renting whilst this all goes through and our tenancy is up end of August,so might need to extend if this drags on much longer..
Total debt 2003 £29658

Debt now £ 21 but haggling!,Haggled now gone up!

Sorry,forgot the bloody card!!!!!!,was £6000 now down to £4896,now down to £3198,now £2756!

  • Depends on what survey you're having done and Woolwich service standards at any given time. If survey is a basic valuation, I'd hope to have mortgage offer in 7 days max after survey results known. If it's a homebuyers report, will be twice that.

After surveys being done, I've had some cases where we've had mortgage offers in 24 hours and others are months.

Depends how long it takes surveyor to prepare report, but you should have a copy within 7 days. You then need to read it carefully and decide if you're happy or not. The problem with homebuyers reports is that they highlight all sorts of stuff that may not be accurate.

One of my vendors bought a 1930's bungalow, the homebuyers report highlighted loads of things, one being that the roof lining had deteriorated beyond repair and would need replacing. This involves scaffolding and whole roof off job. Big cost. Had a roof specialist go out and do a report, as well as an electrician and a plumber. Absolutely nothing wrong with the place.

100% have checks and reports done if something is highlighted, but be prepared for slight delay. If nothing comes up, I'll be really surprised.
