As it is only happening on one website, why not give the address?
 Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:

Initially sounds like a fault in their setup, maybe something on their web server hasn't been setup correctly. Difficult to say without an exact link.

    It's a server-side issue.

Your friend either needs the full URL or they need to fix their server (to have more friendly responses).
  • thanks, he can log onto his account on other machines without problem, so it is his pc, but what could be causing it?

I'm not an expert on this so apologies if I've got the wrong end of the stick, but...

Essentially, when you type in a URL domain, you're browsing to a folder. The error message you're seeing indicates that the website has prevented you from seeing a list of the files, but has not indicated which file to open by default.

Try adding the following filenames, (i.e. if the URL is http://www.dateline.com/, try using http://www.dateline.com/index.html etc.):

    index.htm
    index.html
    default.asp

    Hope this helps...
  • thanks, just found out that the exact address si https://www.dateline.co.uk but am unsure when the error comes up.
