Myson Kickspace configuration baffling

Hi,

I have just moved into a house with Phoenix gas. In the kitchen is Myson Kickspace 600. The thing that is confusing me is that there are two pipes connected to it through a wall from the living area where there is a radiator. Each pipe is connected the separate copper pipes coming through the floor.

Two pictures uploaded.

Can some please tell me how this works. Do I need to have the heating on in the living room to use the myson. Are the copper pipes on the radiator no just passing hot water up to the radiator itself?

Many thanks,
C

afaik its basically just another radiator (usually with an electric fan). hot water in one pipe and cold out of tother pipe.
you will need the boiler on to use the radiator.

some models use both systems together. ie a fan heater and a CH radiator.

the reason to fit them is to save the space of a traditional CH rad.
    Get some gorm.

Thanks. So one pipe feeds the hot water from the radiator. The fan in the myson spins and blows hot air out, then the cold water goes back to the other radiator pipe to drain away?

That's basically it. It's a fan convector that's fitted to your heating system. It can usually be set to come on when the heating system comes on by means of an internal thermostat to detect hot water flowing. Additionally, you can add an external thermostat to help with temperature control.
