BBQ stains on t-shirts

Hi,

I have a have a gas BBQ and was cleaning it with a wire brush, the next thing I saw was my t-shirt was sprayed with black residue from the grill.

I have tried washing the t-shirts (it happened on 2 t-shirts now) on a 90 degree wash and the stains are still there. The washing powder we have is Persil non-bio.

Any ideas on how to get the stains out as one of t-shirts a very new as was a birthday present from the other half

I've found a liquid detergent that's brilliant. Morrison's own, the purple one. I poured some onto the stain and left it for a few minutes, then soaked it in cold water, and gave it a good few hours then it just rinsed out. I just bunged it into the wash then.
I have found that most times, cold water instead of hot gets stains out.

Lakeland do a bar soap too which is very good (especially at getting black grease off your hands)
