PPI Claim with welcome finance

Hello all,

Im fairly new to this - so If I have posted this in the wrong place please forgive me!

I currently have a PPI Claim with Consumer finance claims..

This has been going since January 2010. I have had little contact from them. I received an acknowledgement letter then nothing. When I call, they generally seem to have an attitude - as if I shouldnt be calling them.

I emailed them for a general update and I was told 'when we need information from you, we will contact you'.

Has anyone had dealings with these people? Do they actually have any success stories?

Because at the moment Im paying £50per month towards payment protection for my car finance with welcome finance.

You mean you have paid money to a company for them to send a letter on your behalf???

You could have saved yourself the money and done this for nothing. All the info (including Template Letters) are here

Of course they don't want to to keep calling them, they already have your money. They are busy trying to rope more suckers into the scam.

Hi, I'm currently going through the same process with Welcome finance and reclaiming PPI. Pretty much in the same situation in that I was sent a questionnaire regarding the PPI (which pretty much avoided all of the reasons for my reclaim), I returned the questionnaire to them and have had a nightmare getting any response at all from them. I have since sent them another letter (recorded delivery - as they have a fantastic reputation for 'losing' mail) demanding some sort of reponse within 14 days and so far it been 26 day without even so much as an acknowledgment that they got my letter. As its also IMPOSSIBLE to get hold of anyone in the correct department by phone, I hounded my local office and forced them to sit on the phone trying to get through to the right people instead. Apparently I should be now getting a response within the next 10 working days. Of course I don't hold out much hope!

According to their complaints procedure I should have had a final response within 8 weeks of them receiving my initial complaint - it has now been 23 weeks and counting with barely an acknowledgement!

Anyway, although this forum can be very helpful I would suggest checking out -

    consumeractiongroup.co.uk / forum / welcome-finance/

There's plenty of helpful info regarding Welcome Finance specifically and if you have some time on your hands read through a few threads and you will realise rather rapidly that you are definantly not on your own!

Hope the above is helpful in some way.. I shall update here when / if I get a response from Welcome if you like?

    Hi there

I would be very wary using claims management companies, and if any problems with them, contact the Ministry of Justice (MOJ).
They will also check them out.
    http://www.justice.gov.uk/contactus.htm

And of course as Apples2 stated you can of course have a go yourself with help from this site on post Apples2 have posted.
And further info with guidelines of reclaiming ppi here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

I am not sure how claims companies work but many I know have had problems, if you check on the thread Apples2 have posted you will come across quite a few, and check out the advice on those threads too.
If you do get the opportunity, try having a go yourself, you only post for proof of posting at your post office.

    Hope this helps, good luck.

  • Thanks for all of the advice.

I didnt pay the company anything - it was a 'no win no fee' type company. If I write to Welcome directly and I am successful in getting a reclaim. Will the PPI Reclaim company try and get their fees from me??

    Hi there

Did you actually sign, and have you checked if you can cancel?

I would give it a go anyway, because if you were successful for them dealing with this, they will charge you anyway.

    Check your paperwork.;)

i to have ongoing claim through consumer finance claims and would advise anyone about using them

when they first contacted me they were on the ball mailing forms etc..
that was over 64 weeks ago..whilst i accept that this case is not straight forward it should have taken no where near this long

they dont answer emails even though their fancy website says all answered within 48 hrs and seem to take exception to any cristism you have about them,,,
they have submitted forms incorrectly missed important info off forms to the banking obudsman.ignored emails and phone calls
the Banking obudsman is more than helpful as I have to keep checking where my case is up to through them even though I am supposed to be represnted through this less than proffesional company

they are quick to get your business and so slow in doing anything contructive enough to get any conclusion

I wish I had taken this on myself at least I would have an answer one way or the other by now,

Beware talk is cheap and a proffesional website may intice you in but the service that they provide is really pathetic

they say they will only contact you should they have anything to report
but i know for a fact that they have not answered letters from the banking obudsman which needs my responce but still they have failed to contact me,a letter asking them for info from the banking obudsman took them nine weeks to respond to.

they say they are very busy(i dont know what at) they should not take on cases or work that they simply cannot cope with..

I feel like i was promised a great service and have ended up with a rubbish one shop around more if you do decide to claim and i have also been told that i could have easily done the work myself and not taken 64 weeks to get to this sorry state.
