If your TV has a VGA-in (in other words it can behave exactly like a computer monitor) then you can connect a standard VGA cable like for a computer monitor to it (but also need to connect a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male to male stereo audio cable most likely).

Only the highest end laptops have a proper TV out.

Hardly any video cards do, so yours probably doesn't.

Your TV doesn't have a VGA socket? Most do these days.

Lots of laptops have TV-out, but it's almost always svideo.

The number of pins might vary, and if they do then you'll need a slightly different cable.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
