Hi,
We are renting in England, the landlord is not registered with council, this is the only property he has.
I am going down to my local council in the morning to try and get a bit more advice.
Thanks0 -

If you stand your ground and wait to the last minute then there's still a court case, then bailiffs to come (that takes time). If you contact the council and say you'll be made homeless, then they will insist you stay to the bitter end; to leave on the required date, in their eyes, is making yourself intentionally homeless.
The only downside with this is try getting a reference from your current landlord. So you end up getting forcibly booted out and no chance of getting anywhere else even if you do have the money.0
