Opinions On This Computer I Am Thinking Of Buying

My old computer (Desktop) is coming to the end of the road & I am looking to buy a new one (Base Unit Only)

Problem is I am totally lost on the best machine to buy :(

I require the computer for some video editing & for running a mill intensive Betfair Trading program called EVO.

I am looking to spend a max of £500 & am currently looking at this machine ...

HP Pavilion p6315uk Desktop PC (Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Athlon II X4 630 Processor, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB SATA HDD, 802.11 b/g/n Networking, GeForce G210 Graphics, Wireless Keyboard and Mouse)

It's on sale at Amazon for £405. It looks ok to me but im no expert :D

Would appreciate some expert opinion on this machine.

Much appreciated

4GB of RAM is wasted on windows 7 HP as it can only access 2.75GB of it, crazy i know!

Save your cash on the RAM or buy Windows 7 64Bit

You could build one yourself much cheaper!!

I'd be suprised if the OP could build it and make it cheaper.

The 635 processor is £95 alone.
    W7 Premium is £80.
    4GB RAM is £100 I suspect.
    HDD £40
    - £315 on its own.

    Then:
Mobo + GFX + Case + Network + Power then on top.

I didn't say it would be easy!!

It's a good deal from Amazon, but the 4GB is not needed and you could save money elsewhere.

windows 7 HP comes in both 32 & 64 version, I doubt that they have supplied the 32 bit version.
