When playing back photos and short clips taken DDs camera through the wii using the cameras SD card, one SD card (1gb) will play no problem the other SD card is not being read - wii screen displays unusuable. But the SD plays fine on my laptop, so is it the size 4gb thats the problem or could there be content on there that it doesn't support?
Thanks
Thanks

Searching the net I have found someone who says 2gb SD cards is as big as the wii will take?
Is this true?
Thanks0 -
As far as I know, yes, 2GB is the maximum SD card size for a Wii.0

Ok thanks.0

Hi I've just commented on another of your posts and I also said the wii didnt take SDHC, but I just checked on google, which claimed they'd released an update for SDHC support last year. Have you updated your Wii recently? might be worth a go
System update 4.0 anyone? I hadn't heard of it until I just looked0 -
I have updated the wii but still not reading the SDHC card.0

With the update it should manage SDHC and SD up to 32GB. What filesystem is it formatted with? if it's NTFS you'll need to format it to FAT32.They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0
-
Can I format it with data on it or do I need to delete it all first?
And any easy instructions on how to format an SDHC card (sorry)?0 -
I didn't know about the Wii's limits. I do keep software updated though so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for that tip.Can I format it with data on it or do I need to delete it all first?

REMOVE DATA BEFORE FORMATTING ANYTHING. EVER!
Formatting will erase anything on there. On hard disks it'll be retrievable but it'll either be fiddly if you do it, or expensive (but more reliable) if you get a company to do it. I've done it once, I long time ago.
To format your card in FAT 32, you'll need to insert it into a computer running FAT 32, such as the Windows 9x series (up to and including Windows ME). I THINK most digital cameras will format to FAT 32. In windows, use My Computer and right click on the card reader. Format will be an option. It's easy.
Is there a format option on the Wii? I'd be surprised if there wasn't.0 -
Ok, emptied card, think format was fat32 anyway but formatted it again, took a couple of photos and tried again in wii but still not working.0
