Weather can be abit mixed in December and January. We have been there many times to see family(have a Maltese hubby) over xmas/new year and have had some gorgeous weather(shorts and t-shirt weather),but then again it can be cool and rainy.Average temps during the day are about 17ºC and about 10-11ºC at night but been there alot when temps have been much higher."Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."0

I have, it was horrendous & I would never go again.
Save some money, stay at home and lie in bed for a week.
You would enjoy it more.
