In the DBS's defence, you can invest up to £1000 a month with their account - the YBS is restricted to £500.
So, go for the YBS first and if you have more than £500 available each month, dump the balnce in the DBS one.0 -

You live in a the right area of the country for this - I can't get Leek or Principality or Ipswich.........
How about opening an alliance & leicester current account then transfer money in each month then out to the A&L regular saver and one or two other regular savers....Indecision is the key to flexibility

Ipswich Regular Saver is open to ALL, regardless of postal address. I opened mine last month via their head office and I live about 200 miles away from Ipswich. The restriction was dropped a few months ago.0 -
Same goes for Principality, Leek and Scarborough. Open to all.0

This may be a good offer tho...how much interest can you earn [after tax] on the derbyshire account if you put in £1000 a month compared to other regular saver accounts such as the A+L or Halifax.....?? Has anyone worked out the figures yet??0
