Mucked up NatWest Overdraft Application

When I had a NatWest Current account last year (Which I closed as I thought I would no longer need it), I had a small £50 OD limit which although never used I had just in case. Now on that account I waited 2 months and then applied online and I was accepted.
So today now that I have reopened my account I decided not to wait (Against my better Judgement) and apply rightaway and it got declined !, now it did say to reapply again if my situation changes, and there was no mention of 3 months or indeed any time scale, so should I run it well for a few months and try again ?.
As I am sure thats why I got it the last time I ran the account for a few months and got it, so do NatWest base this sort of thing on account conduct ?.
Thanks.

They would have referred to a credit agency - get hold of your credit files for two quid and see what is on there.
Why do you need to open and close accounts though?0 -
I too got declined for a £50 overdraft shortly after opening an account with them. I queried it in a branch a month later and was told it was probably declined because it was a new account and at the time they didn't know much about my account conduct. The advisor said it would have been better for me to have applied for the overdraft at the time of opening the account. She then checked the computer and said I could have a £50 overdraft no problem, and instantly applied it

You don't say whether your regular income is paid into the account. In my experience, an overdraft facility is more forthcoming when there is the prospect of regular income going into the account.

The bank may consider giving you an overdraft after about 3-6 months. Depending on how well the account is managed.
However they may still consult the CRAs to help them with there decision.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
