Washer/dryer?

I guess it comes down to what would annoy you more... having damp clothes hanging or having to hand-wash dishes. I don't mind washing dishes at all. Never have done. But, I can't stand to have clothes hanging indoors. When weather is bright and sunny I can certainly appreciate the virtues of line-drying. Also, I'll hang things like my rubber-backed bath mat out to dry because I don't trust that sort of material in a dryer. But, I am a rather irritable person and I could never have my clothes hanging in my house on damp winter days. Nope. Can't do it. I'd rather drive to a laundrette, so strongly do I feel about it.:beer:0

I line dry whenever I can, but there are times when a TD is fab. I have no garage or shed, or any other spare space to house one.
My kitchen is small, with an insane number of doors to contend with (one of them is for the pantry, which I love, and in any case I can't afford to start knocking walls down). My work surface is hinged, which is the only way to get access to the boiler, which lives behind the WM and TD.
I'm not desperate for a DW, and am more and more inclined to think that what I want is a WM that does the stuff I want. When I'd finally persuaded the old machine (seriously old.....I've been running it with the wrong size switch, as non-one stocks it anymore) to let me take out the washing this morning, then rinsed it etc etc by hand I realised again what wonderful things they are.
I'm sorry my thanks button is behaving oddly....it's been one of those days. Started with a wiped computer document, then the WM, then a tooth veneer (not cosmetic) fell off AGAIN, and I think the new NHS rules say that as it's longer than a month since it was last repaired - 5 weeks - I'll have to fork out £40-odd again.
Thanks again everyone.0
