I am doing the rounds at the moment shuffleing cards with 2 at the moment at 0% and noticed that some members have upto 10 cards on trhe go.

My question is how honestly do you answer the question about how many cards you own?

And, Does this affect whether the application is succesfull

I don't know - I tend to avoid those that ask.

When you apply for a card, the bank in question looks at your credit file - and from this can see the amount of cards you hold.

So its best to answer this question honestly.

And you gain nothing from avoiding the question!

I meant I avoid applying for cards where they ask that question on the application form.

I've rarely had them ask 'how many?'. Rather, they want to know if you have Visa, Mastercard, storecard; sometimes asks about specific ones and Other - but it's usually a tickbox rather than a numerical answer.
