Insurance Letter

Hi all
I sometimes help people fix PCs. Generally reloading OS, some hardware etc.
Recently a friend of mine dropped their laptop and has broken it. The mainboard and disk are both broken. She would like me to write a letter so she can claim on her home insurance.
Does anyone know if they would accept a letter from me? If so, any ideas what I should be saying?
TIA

If it is her insurance policy then surely she has to put in the claim first?
If the insurance company want confirmation of the damage then they will send an assessor or request some sort of proof of damage. This might be where you come in, but they would probably want a 'proper' (no offence intended, you are probably better than most) PC repair company to confirm the damage.

Been in this position before with a stereo. Insurance company required verification of damage from an established business and written on headed company paper. I think it unlikely your assessment would be accepted, unfortunately.0

They may also request it to be inspected by one of thier own people and take it away to verify it is damaged and not just reached the end of its life.0
