Carphone warehouse laptop scam

Have just had a stressful 3 weeks with carphone warehouse. Beware if your thinking of buying from them online. I ordered an Acer laptop from them, paid in full, phoned the next morning to check it was in stock and the order had gone through OK. I was told the payment had cleared and the order has been sent to the warehouse. A week passed and no laptop or acceptance email.

During the next 10 days I phoned 6 times, but never managed to speak to a manager. Two of the staff I spoke too were incredibly rude. 14 days into the dilema I phoned twice in an hour to be told 2 completly different stories from the same person about my order.I was told a different story each time I phoned over the 10 days and nothing added up. From it had been picked and closed by the warehouse and will be with you the next day, to we can't find your order at all and finaly yesterday, we are out of stock of that particular laptop and have been for a while. They didn't want to give me my money back, although they confimed no more of these laptops are on order, but I could wait another 7 days and ring to check if there would be another delivery. So I asked for my money back, yes no problem, you will have a cheque in 28 days time!!!!

Whats worse is they are still taking orders and full payment on line for the exact same laptop, I've just checked.

So annoyed, but have been promised a refund back to my bank account now in 5 days time. Not holding out any hopes of it happening.

Please beware if buying through carphone warehouse.
