Plant that tastes like green apple

I have no idea if anyone can help, but here goes...

A place I work has a lawn at the back of the building, with the usual variety of plants mixed in with the grass (dandelion, plantain, clovers, etc). There was one that plant that tasted of green apple, though. I can't remember what the leaves looked like, but the plant was small (this may have been due to the lawn being mowed though).

Does anyone know what this plant might be, and if it's edible? It would make a nice, unusual, addition to a salad.

    I would like to be a glow-worm.
    A glow-worm's never glum.

Nope. I'll see if I can get one though. It'll involve me chewing on sections of lawn...

I wonder whether it is salad burnet (sanguisorba minor) which is edible and has a cucumber taste .
