in Credit cards
Hi,
Can Credit card balances be transferred to another card in someone else name?
e.g, could a balance on my card be transferred to my partners 0% card for example?
Thanks

Yes as long as both card are not issued from same company and that balance transfer does not exceed 95% of available credit limit taking into account the fee. Once the transfer is done your partner will be fully responsible to repay the debt0

As stephane said, you should be able to do it. However there is currently another thread where Santander are not playing ball. Perhaps it's best not to volunteer the information! Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Thanks for your help.
Just thinking of ways to make outstanding debt clear for a Mortgage application. I guess it could of course be transferred back once the application has gone through etc. Might cost a few pounds, but would be an option.

Unfortunately other companies are now catching on and asking for the name of the cardholder (as printed) on the card you are transferring the balance from...
Of course the simple solution seems to be that if you want to get round that, get an additional card on the account where the debt already stands...then it seems like you are transferring from your own card.
