I have just recieved a call to say that I am going to be paid my previous Bank charges by the Goverment.I was told they were from my Bank HQ and asked for confirmation of my bank details.I gave them this and was a bit suprised when they informed me that I would need to pay £10 per £100 in Tax before the money would be released into my account after a confirmation call tomorow morning.I called my bank and explained what had happened and they have cancelled my card.
Is this a Scam has anyone else had a call?

I'd guess it is a scam - the bank are very unlikely to contact you and willingly try to give you money, and if they were refunding your bank charges, they wouldn't be deducting anything from it.
As a general rule you should never give out your personal information to someone who calls/emails you.
If your bank have cancelled your card you should be ok, was it just the card number you gave out? Or was it actually the account number and sort code?

Sorry - I've just re-read that, when you say confirmation of your details, did they read the information out to you first for you to confirm? or did they ask you to give your details to them?
