ok thankyou for your advice, would you recomend any other investments that are secure that i can take a look at ?0
-
it depends on your meaning of secure. if you want complete security of the investments (not values) then NS&I is the only one. If you want a guarantee that the value of your investment won't drop (excluding inflationary risk), then cash, deposits or guaranteed investment bonds may be worth considering, depending on your timsecales and funds available. An IFA will be able to point you in the right direction as that advice can't be provided through an online forum.I am an Independent Financial AdviserHowever, anything posted here is for discussion purposes only. thankyou so much for all this advice brian thanks for your reply i will take a look at them for certain! .. i requested a prospectus from the friendly invest website, i read through it and there a few good points in it. I was wondering if any one can take a look to just to see what they think about it in detail im really lost on what to do for the best.0

Unregulated scheme, no consumer protection and is of the type that you typically hear about failing or going bankrupt. Some will work. Some will fail. I wouldnt go near it.
both dunstonh and I have looked at the website and dunstonh's response is, IMO, pretty accurate (but that's because he's VERY old:p)I am an Independent Financial AdviserHowever, anything posted here is for discussion purposes only. It should not be considered as financial advice.0 -

Don't let the grey hair fool you. I just have the grumpy old man attitude a bit early
In that vein, I now think this thread is a spam attempt.
adam1011 joins up and posts a thread about pensions v property. Then a few posts later mentions a company that no-one has heard of. Then patrick10, another new login, posts with an opinion on this company too. All in the space of just over an hour.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Me too. Newbies, in a short space of time, joining up to MSE to chat to each other about one particular company.

"Adam Friendly-invest Forrest"
"Hi guys im Adam and i work for a investment company called Friendly Invest Limited (FiL). we provide you with the opportunity to give yourself or your children the best financial future possible."
But just some other entirely different Adam!0 -
My favourite part of the FiL website is:How do I know that my money will be safe?
Due to the nature of the investment, you are a shareholder of your own company. Therefore, there are no third parties such as bankers and brokers involved. This helps to ensure ease of use and also the security of the investment at all times.
Indeed, we wouldn't want to involve any of those nasty horribly bankers with their FSA authorisation and their FSCS protection for account holders. It's obvious that the way to invest safely is to set up a cross-border buy to let arrangement specialising in Detroit.0 -
anyway, so this other Adam Forrest bloke, the one connected to that company mentioned above, is also linked to (via LinkedIN)...

Sales and Marketing Solutions Limited is owned and managed by a team of professionals with over 35 years experience in the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies, specialising in the International property markets for over 20 years.
Our mission is to bring global property buyers and sellers together in order for them to achieve their goals and objectives.
The Market
During the recent economic crisis we have seen huge declines in the activities of both sellers and buyers of all types of property all over the world, with sales virtually coming to a standstill at times due to the difficulties involved with raising finance from banks and building societies, combined with the low confidence of buyers and sellers in the market.
The Solution
Beat The Clock is a revolutionary concept based on a lowest unique bid reverse auction platform and has been created after more than two years of extensive research and legal consultation. Beat The Clock gives sellers the opportunity to sell property at extremely low fixed costs and generating the potential to achieve the full market value for their property whilst allowing potential buyers the opportunity to own property outright for Only £10 with No Deposit, No Mortgage, No Loans or Legal Fees.
Buyers have the confidence of knowing that properties can only be listed on our site once due diligence has been performed by our lawyers.
Sellers receive the benefit of dedicated websites providing potential buyers with the full details of the property.
Our site is aimed, predominantly, at Sellers looking to sell their property for their full asking price,
and
at first time Buyers that have little or no hope of getting onto the property ladder in the foreseeable future. Participation in Beat The Clock is great fun and Guarantees a WINNER
Sounds like a very safe investment choice?0
