Also do the bailiff have to prove that they have attended my property, because obviously they can just say that they have and lie?0

I would pay the court directly if they accept it.

They cannot charge for visits that did not take place, so you could argue the bailiffs fees are illegal as the description of the house they attended did not match the actual house you live in.
Im not sure, but if the court fine is paid i do not believe the bailiffs can continue to make charges as there is no warrant to be executed anymore. You just dispute charges with the bailiff.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

My gut feeling is that this is good advice.
It might not turn out to be straightforward but nevertheless, that's the route I'd try, if you can find the £2250 -
The phone line charge on Herbie21's site and the fee fr the templates, as i understand it, are the only means that used to fund the site. Surely, as Ames said, spending a few quid on a phone call is better than being a few hundred out of pocket paying unlawful bailiff charges.Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

the bailiffs get about 3 chances, if they fail to get an agreement or levy distress upon your goods then they have failed , the debt gets returned to the court and the bailiff fees are removed from the debt, unless your debt is for council tax or rent(they have different rules) the bailif cannot break into your property or get a locksmith in for a normal debt, they are bullsh***** you, search this forum for "bailiff statuatory declaration" copy the document and go see a solicitor to get your signiture witnessed(costs £5, no appointment needed) give the bailiffs a copy and they will cease and desist from harassing you, they will have to return the debt to the court as unsatisfied, you then approach the court to pay the debt LESS the bailiffs fees
i have tried and tested this more than once personally, they know the law, now you do to!0 -
One thing you alway should bear in mind with any debt enforcement company or bailiffs is that you have to be strong against them. They WILL come into your house if they can intimidate you into opening the door, and they WILL intimidate you. Don't let them. You're much stronger than that. Don't let them bully you down the phone or if they arrive at your door. Just try to keep cool, remember that there are thousands of people here to help you, and that collectively this community has kicked their !!!!!! countless times. Don't budge, don't answer the door to them, if they call, tell them you don't want to communicate by telephone and hang up.
Follow kaya's advice above, send the letter and show them you know what you're doing and that you won't stand for it!0 -

The thing is i rang the court and they said because it is a fine (for tv license) and a distress warrant, then they CAN use a locksmith to break into my property?? If it wasnt for this fact then i would be very much feeling more calm about the situation?0
