Need some advice....

Hi

We put an offer in for a repossessed house last Friday (7days ago) which was accepted. We had our mortgage promise and were due to see the bank tomorrow to finalise everything.

I received papers from my solicitor that turned out to be the missives, with the seller wanting to finalise everything today (7 day turnaround). My solicitor asked if I had my mortgage offer ready and I said no. My bank have said that the sellers are moving too fast and they wouldnt have the offer ready until next Tuesday.

So - do I go ahead and accept the offer to sell or do I try and stall and hope the property doesnt get put back on the market? My bank are of the impression that it is normal to accept the offer to sell without the mortgage offer.

Im a first time buyer and my solicitor really isnt helping and I dont feel she is explaining much to me.

thanks

Edit - should mention, Im in Scotland :)

I'd not sign a thing until I had the mortgage offer in my hot little hand. Without that you're gambling on it arriving ... and all sorts of things could happen.
