Wireless Network - "Local Only" problem?

Hi everyone, would really appreciate some help because this is driving me crazy!

I have a TimeCapsule connected to an iMac and 3 windows Vista laptops which run wirelessly off of the TimeCapsule. 2 of them are absolutely fine, but one of them connects to the network but remains with "local only" access and for some reason cannot connect to the internet. If I plug it into the TimeCapsule with an ethernet cable, it works fine, but wireless still remains "local only".

I have tried updating the wireless LAN drivers and they are now the newest available. I've tried switching the TimeCapsule off at the router and re-setting it, but still no luck.

Any ideas for what I can try? Thanks!

    Give this a try:

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Windows Vista.

Start, All Programs\Accessories and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Reboot the machine.

    Hope that works!

Sometimes a simple disable and enable of the connection will help

Thanks guys, but unfortunately none of that fixed it.

I just don't understand it, because the other Vista laptops are fine - and this one works when connected by ethernet, just not wirelessly.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless adapter, and updating the drivers, but still not luck :(

    Any other ideas?

It has the PC connected to an "unidentified network" then a red cross between that network and the internet.

The unidentified network is listed as "local only".

    Thanks for your help.
