ibuyeco car insurance rip off

I have just received a letter from ibuyeco car insurance telling me I have an outstanding balance of £448.33. This is because I cancelled my policy within 2 months as I was unable to provide full no claims details from my previous company car.
I am absolutely furious and was treated discustingly bad and unprofessionally by a member of their customer service team.
Can anyone give me any advice? as they are truly ripping me off as they explained I was just put on the full rate because of no no claims proof.

Not only that - from now on you have to declare, when applying for insurance, that you have had a policy cancelled
Frankly, it seems a pretty rip-off tactic by ibuy. Increase your premium because you can't provide no claim details and then cancel you for the same reason?42 years of experience in the insurance industry.
And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!0 -
You cancelled the policy only 2 months into a 12 month contract, you should have expected that you would have to pay some form of short term rates. If you weren't able to prove proof of your NCB, then really that is not the fault of the company, the resposibility is upon you to provide proof and if you can't then they will increase the premium as you are seen to be a higher risk.0

The OP cancelled the Insurance not the Insurers cancelling it.
OP try sending them proof of your full no claims bonus (Take a photo copy), assuming you have valid maximum no claims bonus it should drastically reduce the amount Ibuy are requesting0 -
I'm not sure what you expect here.as they are truly ripping me off as they explained I was just put on the full rate because of no no claims proof.
They wanted proof that you were entitled to the discount.
You didn't provide it so you couldn't have the discount.
That seems fairly straightforward to me.
If you didn't like the cancellation terms, why did you take the policy in the first place?
Obviously we can't comment on how they have treated you over the phone, but their actions seem fair.0
