That's a great theme... how easy to run it through. Personalised chocs for favours, nice colour for BM dresses! Great :D

Thank you. The coulours look really well together too. I told BM the theme and she was a bit funny about wearing 'brown' but I found a gorgeous dress in a sale in an outlet store and she loves it!

We are going to make ours ourselves and it will be a blue butterfly theme. We have flat 15 blue card and then drawing cutting off the top inch or so leaving just the shape of the butterfly at one end and then printing details on nice paper and using double sided tape sticking them to the card

  • We are also making our own invites (well I am not so much DF). Our theme is calla lily so I am going to put a paper lily on them, but my dress is vintage and lacy so I would like to incorporate this how did your friend do this OP?

rocketchimp you could use paper doilies to get a lacy effect, cutting and sticking them on - very MSE.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

I'm going to make our invites etc. Our theme is Liverpool FC 'red' & sparkle! I love these, http://www.thehandcraftedcardcompany.co.uk/wedding-stationery/203-wedding-invitation.html but they are a bit pricey at £5 each. I also wanted a gatefold card for the invite. So, the mse in me kicked in... I have bought all the bits, card, ribbon, buckles etc. I need to make own from this very site for a fraction of the price, was even lucky enough to get all the card, inserts & envelopes in the clearance section! Happy days!

  • Ours is sunflowers - everywhere I can put them really :) I have always loved them, and they remind me of growing up in Africa, so sunflowers it is! We are trying to make the invites just now - single folded card ones with a faded sunflower printed on with ribbon & our names, then tissue type paper with the printing inside. Colours are yellow (for sunflowers :)) and purple - bridesmaids dresses, other flowers etc.

my original thoughts for a fusion wedding were elephants and jasmine

however i was planning to have them printed and changed my mind. i wanted brown and gold with leaves but offered the design to my sister for her wedding last year in red and gold.

even though colours were bit different, i didn't want same and in the end went for a simpler design but still 'me' iyswim.

got a pic of my wedding invite mockup (thinking i might make a larger version of this and actually frame it too)

and i've also created a kids invite which i'm going to send to my 3 nephews (2 of which are our pageboys) and my OH 2 nieces (1 of which is our flowergirl)

Each of the invites will have their picture on it and i'll change the writing accordingly but it's keeping with the same colours and theme as the grown up invite!

i really just wanted to make them feel invited and part of the day! here's the template for them

We didn't really know what we were doing until we sat down on the day to do it. Be warned, it took us from 0900 until 0200 the next day...

We used a free download as our image that can be personalised on the front then printed the details on the back. We included a postcard style rsvp, an information sheet, and put it all in peach vellum envelopes we made ourselves tied up with peach coloured ribbon. We got card from the papermill shop. I will see if i can find a pic. x
I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off :o

Our theme was initially sapphire blue and cream but I thought that would look a bit dull so we're incorporating hot pink into the flowers and decorations to make the blue 'pop' if you see what I mean.
For our invites, we're making our own - they are gatefold, with hot pink organza ribbon to tie them closed and a bride and groom stamp which makes them a bit more fun (and very us!).
Loved doing the first one, not sure how I'll feel after the 100th though...
