Vendors Stalling?

We were told ... the vendors had no chain and wanted to move quickly and we offered slightly higher than we otherwise would have based on this. ... the vendor would not be able to complete until the end of August (more than 3 months after offer accepted).maninthestreet wrote: »Drop your offer a few thousand, as your current offer was made on the basis of a vendor-requested quick move that has failed to materialise due to delays introduced by the vendor.
Three months is not moving quickly by any stretch of the imagination when there is no chain. Personally I'm fed up with people saying one thing and doing something else - too many people seem to have no concept of doing what's right these days, preferring to make choices that only benefit themselves.
I agree with maninthestreet, if it were me I'd reduce my original offer on the basis they haven't kept to their side of the agreement (particularly as they waited until after you'd had the survey done.) At the very least you should be asking for them to cover your additional rent/storage costs. Be completely honest with the EA/Vendor why you're doing these things, people need to learn there are consequences to saying one thing and doing something different.
As a proceed-able FTB you are very much in demand, if your current Vendor doesn't appreciate that I'm sure your next one will.Every generation blames the one before...
