Next Delivery Charge - Refund

Wasn't sure where to post this question, please feel free to move.
I have read on the BBC website this morning, that Next have been breaching the law regarding delivery charges if you return an item within 7 days, according to the EU law apparently you should be refunded the delivery charge too, but many retailers including Next have failed to do so in the past, they are changing the policy as from August.

My question is, as an online customer for years can I ask Next to refund me for the delivery charge for items I have returned in the past few years?

Don't worry, I'm sure site feedback isn't the correct forum for this type of question although I understand you may have been confused by the 'questions & suggestions' part of the board title, but apparently it's not an issue as a helpful board guide will hopefully be along soon to correct things for you

Hopefully the BG won't consider you are seeking legal advice here, because if you are, there's a chance the thread will be closed as "forums can't be relied on for accurate legal advice".
Still, perhaps I can get away with quoting from the link you have provided?Mr [Andy] Foster [operations manager at the Trading Standards Institute] said there were steps customers could take if the rules were not adhered to.
"What they should do is approach the retailer and ask them to give them their money back or they can take their case to the small claims court," he said.
"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
