    I'm a bloke, so not really expert at this, but i know enough from when the Mrs did it with ours.

    Can i ask........are you saying you were still breast feeding a 2yr old?
    If thats the case, do you not see that as seriously weird?

    Not even REMOTELY weird woody01 - :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    You need to do a little research on the subject sweetheart. Perfectly, perfectly normal and recommended BTW

    TBH it's not something I would entertain either, but it's not for you or I to call the OP "seriously weird". :p

    Actually I agree Kate78 - I'm the last of my Ante natal group still with a bubs having a nightime feed. Think it only worked out this way because I work from home so I'm always around (and I'm too darn lazy to make up bottles - LOL)

    But sorry DS2 - nuff's enough matey. When he can pour his own glass of milk it's time to say "Stop!!"

    ...........and I'm pretty weird - but not "seriously" so - more "comically" so :rotfl:

    I was told to put savoy cabbage leaves in the freezer and then put them down your bra. It does help but not sure about it in this hot weather:rotfl:I dont envy you though - I can still remember the pain:o
    Yes, this does do the trick and works quite quickly. Use a needle to make small holes in the cabbage leaves to release the enzymes. And beware, in this hot weather you WILL smell of cabbage ...

    Make sure you take them out of your bra at night though, I have lost track of the number of cabbage leaves I accidentally put through the wash ...:eek:

    The World Health Organisation recommends that babies are breastfed until they are 2. OP's baby is just over that so I don't see that as seriously weird.

    OP, congratulations on managing to BF for so long!:T I was hoping to get to at least a year but after 9 months of BF and returning to work I don't think I'm going to manage it and stay sane :o!

    There you go - didn't know that,and I was the one still feeding. Just know that the MW's didn't even bat an eyelid that I was still feeding.

    Know what you mean about sanity though. With the first I actually physically craved the "getting my body back" bit - and he fed to 20 mths. With this one it was more a case of "this too shall pass" and we seem to have sailed through - same brain, different realities.

    ...............told you I was weird:rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks for all you help guys - full off painkillers and cool pads (eye compresses) in bra and it all seems to be helping....... including the unexpected giggles along the way.

    I didn't call the OP weird.
    I called the act of the feeding weird.

    Not weird at all. My last daughter was 2 years and 5 months when I stopped. Did try from 2 years but she was so upset. Eventually she understood "all gone"!

    I called the act of the feeding weird.

    And why would you think the act of feeding a 2yr old is weird? Your not female either and therefore have never breastfed a baby - you dont know what you are talking about!

    Op well done on breastfeeding for so long:T:D It really will benefit your childrens health for the rest of their lives. I breastfed all of my children. The first 3 i breastfed untill they were about 18 months old and the youngest was 2yrs old when she stopped. I have noticed as they are growing up that they have had far less colds,allergies and other minor illnesess than my friends and familys children, and i put this down to them being breastfed.
    Time flies though...my youngest is 15 now!:eek:

    One of my good friends still BF her 2 6 year olds, a good 4 feeds a day
    Do whats right for you ladies. I never produced any milk while pregnant due to having to take medicines for illness. Its something I would have love to have tried and dont bat an eye lid if I notice anyone doing so.
