DLA New Medical

Hi

Has there been any news on the medical thats being introduced for new/existing DLA claimants from 2013 as per the June 2010 budget how it will work etc?

Just curious as my daughter whos 3 currently gets dla as she has special needs in speech and language and is developmentally delayed etc i dont know how they plan on assessing people for these kind of disabilities (mental/development) she has a paediatrician speech therapist senco has seen psychologists GP health visitor had extensive assessments they all confirm her disability and severity level of it so if part of it is asking their opinions that wont be a problem
Never judge a book by its cover

From what was said in the budget, it's those of working age that will be tested.

Some DLA claimants have a medical now so I would imagine it will be an extension of that.

On the other hand it may just be more ConDem hot air.

I think it's just them saying "we may do this, we may do that". We should know more by 2013.

Under 16s and those of pension age will be exempt from the new medical according to the Government proposal.

Children sometimes have medicals now so I think it would be everyone - if it happens.
