Thats great,at least i know i haven't done anything drastic.:TThe following is an extract from my course material for MCSE course (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer), hope it explains:
" Windows XP periodically checks your system to verify a valid installation. If you alter your system substantially, you may have to reactivate Windows XP.
This will not happen if you change only a couple of components (e.g. if you add additional RAM or change your video adapter), but if you change more than four major components, be prepared to reactivate Windows XP."0 -
Here it is hopefully. (Have deleted ) Not sure it's the right one. all sorted now. Downloaded hijackthis and am getting help from them (i hope )0

Where are the Logs for Malwarebytes?
Have you followed the instruction in posts #17 & 18?
Fix these:
R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Companion\Installs\cpn1\yt.dll
F2 - REG:system.ini: UserInit=C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe
O1 - Hosts: 74.125.45.100 protected.maxisoftwaremart.com....
What was the point of deleting the logs??? Honestly....some people.
