My daughter just started 2nd year of A-Levels so will be leaving school July 07. (Off to uni..horrah!). Will the Tax Credit stop on the final day of her school?

Yes if you only receive CTC and she is the only child you have at school. If you receive WTC also and your income isn't too high that might continue on. Keep an eye on your award notices though next year (2007-2008) anyway just to make sure they take account of that on them.

Will this result in an overpayment? Will they expect to be paid back if u do this?
  • you will need to inform them as soon as 31/8/07 arrives, any delay may mean an overpayment which will have to be paid back

I'm upping this, is this information still correct. My son is off to uni in Sept but will still have a daughter at home. I receive WTC and CTC.
    Thanks

    Yes it's the same dot111 :)

If they leave after their exams in June then their official leaving date is the last Sunday of August.
