Isn't this the index recently lauded by the bears as the most accurate when it showed some miniscule falls....:D

Not me Hamish, I've never heard of it. I prefer to assess the feel of the local market (because I don't really care much about Aberdeen, sorry) by occasionally dipping into Property Bee. Now a few years ago there was nothing under a hundred grand, no doer uppers, no BTL 'opportunities' and most stock was moving. Very different these days and that is what I base my personal assessment on.HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »http://www.mortgagestrategy.co.uk/economy/house-sales-leap-20-in-june/1014890.article

Ahhhh......
That explains why carolt thought enough of it to bold the bit below......Average house prices fell for the third month in a row during May, according to the Acadametrics index, the only measure which uses actual prices for every property transacted in England and Wales rather than valuation estimates or asking prices.

Full report: http://www.acadametrics.co.uk/LSL%20Acad%20HPI%20News%20Release%20June%2010.pdf
- Prices down for the fourth month in a row, down 0.5% in June.
- Average house has lost over £5k in value since February.
- Number of house sales 40% below the long-term average.
How exactly are you spinning this as good news, Hamish?poppy100 -
Now Hamish, don't spoil your own excellent thread. As far as I can gather some survey says house prices are up or down and they give an actual percentage. Fascinating, and if only there were more threads like this, say about 20 a day would be good.HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Says the bear who saw house prices rising so quickly he went out and bought one....:D0 -
