Don't know what it is called but I do know that it's a weed - I pull up loads of the stuff

Dont know the name either - but, to me, it looks like something that "might" be edible - so worth looking into (to see if it is).0

I have weeds that look like that in quite a few of my pots and my raised bed; although i haven't let any get big enough to flower. I think its something in the compost personally. I have it mainly in the raised bed (B&Q multipurpose and supposedly well rotted horse manure) and in some garlic which was a small bag of John Innes compost with water crystals in, also pots which have westland organic compost for vegetables. It hasn't appeared in the pots with homebase mp compost or tomorite growbag compost or an organic westland tomato growbag. It is really annoying actually as I didn't think I'd need to be weeding a new raised bed so soon and whoever heard of weeding pots! it's ridiculous and annoying.0

That's exactly what made me think twice about whether it is a weed. The fact it was all over my pots that have new compost in them. At first I thought it maybe part of the wild flower box of seeds I am growing in a large bed and thought it may have spread by the wind. This at first seemed logical as the wild flower 'seed' was in fact more like sawdust so could easily blow into a pot here and there.
It has completely taken over two of my pots so made me think it had to be something I have planted but since you are having the same problem I think it may be the compost as I used new compost in all the pots and dug some into the beds to give them a kick start.
I thought it could have been the gyp bulbs in the pot so am now wondering what has happened to them!!
I feel cheated I allowed them to grow on the bed being unsure of whether to pull them only to regret later. GRRRR!There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -

Well in that case I'd have enough to feed my entire postcode

The flower heads look a bit like ground elder to me but hard to confirm in the picture0

I'm not sure what it is, but it's not ground elder and it's not fat hen.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I wonder whether it might be charlock???
Worth googling for pictures/descriptions of that to see - as charlock IS edible - though some would dispute that....:rotfl:. Charlock certainly DOES grow in large quantities anywhere it gets a foothold..0 -
It's dog's mercury - please don't eat it, it's poisonous.
I have this on the allotment, and was pretty sure of the ID, but just googled images to check. It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0
