in Credit cards
Hi,
First time starting a new thread but was just looking for a bit of advice. I am looking to book a holiday online for me and my girlfriend and was going to pay with my debit card.
However, I am aware that over £100 on a CC makes the CC company joint liable should anything (which it hopefully wont) go wrong... and was just wondering if this would still apply if I got my sister to pay on her card and gave her the money back even though the holiday is for me and not her??
Any thoughts anyone??

Doesn't matter if the goods / services are for her, just whether or not they are delivered / etc
Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

But for things like holidays there are certain exceptions, are there not? Like if your flight is scheduled to leave at 8 PM and is delivered (leaves) at like midnight there's nothing your CC company can really do...0

Thanks for the reply izools
Yer Curt. I agree in situations like that its unavoidable but with it being an online booking I was just wanting that added piece of mind that the flight will be booked (be it delayed or not) and that the hotel will actually be booked when we get there etc0 -
Yeah it certainly doesnt do any harm anyway - but the regular inconvenience may exist unfortunately.
For some reason, the UK just doesnt have that many partner/airline perks or privellages based on CC's as other countries...in the US, (obviously), Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Italy etc there are so many varities of CC's that offer to sort out your problems in case of travel fiasco's, and some are tied in with the airline's card, some through cards you pay for etc but the UK only has like 2 of them.
For example if your hotel fell through, under the UK's CC purchase protection laws and what not, you would likely get a total refund. With most other card companies round the world, they would put you in a hotel first, then sort out the money issue once you and your luggage were safe for the night...then sort out accomodation for the rest of your trip.0 -
Ok thanks for your replies Curt.0
