Water Parks

Wanted to take the kids into center parcs on a day pass to use the water park since we actually can't afford to stay there this year and the kids love it, unfortunately I now find out that they don't do day passes anymore so I have just googled for water parks.
I have found out that Alton Towers have a water park £44 for the family and there is another in staffordshire called Waterworld 2000 which is £38 for the family.
I would just like to know if anyone has been to either of these? Do they compare to Center parcs? And which is the better?
Thanks or any advice

Been to both. None of these compare to Center Parcs, they do however both have more flumes than Center Parcs.
If I had to choose, I would go for Alton Towers Waterpark. I think the flumes were great and really good fun. I think Waterworld have more flumes but they are no where near as good as Alton Towers.
I would factor in the price, and distance. If Alton Towers works out much more expensive, then I would stick to Waterworld.
Someone may tell you different though.0 -
I used to work literally next door to Waterworld. It's just a swimming pool really. Yes its got flumes and stuff but its still basically a swimming pool.0

Just in case you come across it there is a Sandcastle Waterworld in Blackpool, I live in Blackpool and I have to say dont waste your money going there. Everything is cramped together, looks unorganised. Every year they just stick another slide on top of another, the pools arent that big, there over crowded and it costs a fortune. You even have to pay to park, if you can even get a parking space in the car park as your sharing it with the pleasure beach.
We went to the one at Alton Towers and enjoyed it, it looks really nice inside although I couldnt spend more than a few hours there. Iv considered staying at one of the hotels in Stoke, the Britannia usually do good deals and Iv stayed there before and it was quite nice. Then have a day at Alton Towers and a day at the waterpark. Certianly cheaper than a stay at Center Parcs. Personally I think Alton Towers water park is better than center parks. Iv been to Whinfell and Nottingham and although the pools are big there werent that many waterslides or kiddy areas. Although I did like the outdoor pools at night! Have a nice time.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*

I would have to disagree about Sandcastles, my kids love it been a couple of times (off season) and not been busy and had a great time.
Waterworld good, but a few years since i've been, also like the various center parcs but the do charge a lot for a day passThe futures bright the future is Ginger0 -

Alton Towers or Waterworld are no where near as good as Centre Parcs. Saying that we have been to both, but would choose Alton Towers every time. Much cleaner and newer, be prepared for big queues on some of the water rides though, and it would be best to pre-book as my neighbour went last week and they were full!! Sometimes they do special offers if you go in after 5pm, but probably not in school holidays. They also have a nice bar area where you can sit and watch and grab a bite to eat if you fancy. The water park itself probably would suit ages up to about 12ish as there are not huge slides there, but adults seem to have a great time there!!0

When people are saying that places aren't as good as CP, which CP are they referring to? I've been to Whinfell which I think has lovely pools with the wave machine and Sherwood which I thought nowhere near as good except for little kids to play around the boat in the sand and the ride (forgot its name).0

Iv been to whinfell and sherwood. I thought the pools were lovely but I have a 4 and a 6 year old and so there wasnt much to entertain them, the slides arent much good to them. Perhaps thats why in my opinion the sandcastle isnt worth the money (family of 4 is nearly £50) as my kids dont go on the waterslides, well barely any of them. When we went to Alton Towers waterpark the kids had loads to do and would of happily played there all day. Alton Towers alone has always been magical to me, it reminds me of days out as children etc so even the journey there is exciting. Iv stayed in the hotels too and although they aren't that cheap Iv had a wonderfull time, I love the lift in the original hotel. Even when were just visiting I take my kiddies in the lift! Im a big kid at heart.
As for Whinfell CP water park, I went in January and was actually quite disgusted at how dirty it was, we were first ones in there in a morning and within half an hour the tables were filthy, there was dirt in the pools and as it was snowing the outside area was completely closed limiting the amount there was to do. We only went in once on our 3 day break. It was so cramped you couldnt swim and we even heard the lifeguards talking about how legally there were far too many people in the pool for it to be safe. I think things like this change your opinion but this could happen to anywhere!Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
