hi ,i have a student account and got a letter saying that i could turn my account into a graduate account. But i havent graduated, i failed my final year.
can i get into trouble if i said i graduated when i havent yet? graduate account extends my overdraft , no job yet, and credit card bills are killing me. i really need it , can the banks find out that i havent graduated yet?

before they upgrade your account, they should see a copy on your degree/certificate...you should be able to phone the bank and tell them you are repeating a year and keep your student account, all you would have to show them is this years matriculation card.
Hope this helps.

Agreed you woul have to prove you had passed - but by staying on a year you should be able to increase your overdraft should you want to - most banks increase student OD by £250 per year - this includes 1 extra year for situations like yours0
