Home-made lease extensions

I have finally understood the reasons why i have to extend the lease on my share of freehold property. Does anyone know whether i can do a home-made lease extension rather than paying the solicitors £400?

Most things are capable of being DIY'd, after all solicitors were born with no greater ability to do their job than you or I.
Trouble is, if you have had trouble just understanding the reasons to do it, how will you understand and handle the complexities of actually getting it done? What might you overlook, because you don't know to look out for it?
And what if getting it wrong loses you a lot more than £400 whenever you come to sell, have dealings with the other freeholders, or extend it further ?0 -
If you have a mortgage you will need to involve a solicitor to deal with its deed of substituted security so you are not going to save very much.RICHARD WEBSTER
