HI, sorry if this is in the wrong thread, or someone else has already posted it, but currently iceland are doing PG TIPS 240tbags for £3 a box, which is cheap when you compare tesco, morrisons, sainburys at £5.45 a box and asda at £4.98 a box,
I got mine.

aye but this is £3 for a 240 box, so slightly better value as it makes it the equivalent of £2 for 160.
I just picked up 8 boxes today, PG tips is our favourite brand but their quite pricey, however we've found Iceland do this offer every 4 months roughly(basically every now and then), making the large 240 box £3 instead of £4.29(which still beats Sainsburys I think). So we wait and buy a load, we go through A LOT of tea so 1920 bags will be used before any sort of best before...though tbh it's dried tea leaves, do they have one haha.
I'd say we get through at least 10 cups of tea a day, sometimes 15...
Oh if you are going to buy in bulk, do the poor staff a favour and just ask one of them to get you a whole 4-pack down, they come in 4 boxes in a plastic case, so obviously bringing you down a case or two is easier then you taking 4-8 boxes to stock up and putting them in your trolley, for them to have to re-fill the shelf.0 -
Thanks for that Andy
Reckon my daughter and I get through 20-25 a day, at least......which is probably why I'm still up at this time of night :rotfl:Aug11 £193.29/£240

Haven't Morrisons got a deal on Yorkshire Tea at that price?

only 8 boxes, at this price i picked up 20 boxes, my entire family use pg tips, unfortunately for them they work so usually miss out on the offers, thanks for the info about they do this usually every 4months, i'll make a note of that. wont need to buy as much the next time.0 -

yeah that's a vague estimation. But over the last year I've seen this offer twice before...so say three times in the last year, I've just gone with 4 months, it's probably random but my point is this isn't a one off, it seems to occur on occasion, you'll notice because they usually put them on a special offer shelving section when you walk in, "front focus" as it's known. Though you might find once the big £3! sign has gone and their just back in their normal space on the shelf and not near the front, they'll still be £3 for a little while longer, as in a week or so, that's been my experience anyway.
Yeah one member of the family(well adopted, it's complex haha) doesn't like them as much as she thinks their too strong. I don't like strong tea as in not much milk, I do like it rather white, but at the same time I feel PG tips gives you a slightly stronger tea taste in the back of your mouth if that makes sense, I do like it, sometimes with others I get this weird feeling I'm almost drinking slightly flavoured hot water, where as with PG you get that "ooooh", which Typhoo claims to give you but meh, PG tips wins hands down. I just don't stir the teabag for her pretty much, leave for 10 seconds, squeeze once against the side, that's it...tbh I may as well put the teabag in hers after it's been in mine, like servants used to do back in the day, take the dregs from their masters teapots.
I actually work at Iceland haha! We usually have at least one brand of teabags on offer, either Typhoo 160 for £2, or yorkshire 160 for £2(yorkshire tea is good too), not always, but usually one brand will have an offer on it, just not always as good as this, might only be 50p off sort of thing.0 -

I don't believe so, our store certainly only has the regular, in fact I'm not sure we even stock the de-caff, however we are not one of the larger stores sq feet wise, the larger ones sell more stock, especially branded items. I imagine not though, as I believe usually the de-caff version of decaffeinated items is quite a bit more pricey then the non de-caff? Seems that way in coffee anyway, like double the price nearly on some brands de-caff.0
