I didn't taste any significant difference but it was quite pleasant.
It's tomato and paprika - so you would have thought it would taste different but maybe the sauce masked it.Miggy

Not so good a day on the MSE front but pretty good otherwise.
Spends:
Vax bags (actually DH got them but same difference except I don't usually count his spending) -£5
Meal out -£32
Food shop for tomorrow by DH -£?
Dessert for tomorrow & apple for DH -£3.40
MS stuff:
Gathered 7lbs of potatoes from the garden + £1.40
Decluttering:
Shifted more of the pile of twigs to the green bin
harvested potatoes so now I have a little space to put compost and start some salad and/or veg.
Others:
Lovely meal out with Dh (celebrate time to ourselves and him reaching his target weight)
Kind neighbour gave me a lift this morning so I could deliver DS's forgotten camping items and get to work on time!
My second driving practice in 19 years, lol. First was yesterday. Getting the feel of a car again.
I am sure there were more, that's all I can think of for now though.

Some not-so-good food management going on here - over the weekend I've had to throw out defrosted bolognese (froze too big a batch), half a loaf of yucky bread (mouldy, didn't spot it till too late), some burnt bread sauce and a few too many cooked carrots that got left out.
On the other hand, yesterday's meal went down very well, I have mysteriously not gained weight over the weekend and there is still tons of food in the freezers!
Not expecting to spend much/any today as I'm at work 1-9.Miggy

I hate putting food in the bin, I think of it as money. It,s like a game , if it ends up in the bin you've lost. We live and learn though so, new game don't let the bin win againSew it, knit it, glue it, reuse it , don't buy it0

Food in the bin if definitely money in the bin! (Odd, as food in my mouth is inches on my middle).
I just managed a NSD today! I had to go to the shop for work but reminded myself a few times I wanted to post a NSD on here. I did get out £10 to pay for my piano lesson tomorrow, though.
+2p street money! If I could do that year-round say once a week, wow, I'd have another pound!
What with one thing and another, the animals have stayed in hutches today, so probably cost more to feed than if they were out on the grass.
I don't know what DH did for tea (I was at work) or whether he had any expenses, but he did tell me that the electricity bill (with a new company) already shows we owe them a bit.
Sooo tired tonight, I must sign off now and get ready for bed.Miggy

Another tired evening - I was called by work this morning to see if I could start early, which I did.
Some spends today, £10 for my piano lesson and £6.22 at Mr T. I went in for painkillers (headache) and knew not to pay £2+ for the posh version of Ibuprofen but found Paracetemol tablets are only 15p so for some reason I got those.Other than that: 2 tins of Heinz beans on offer at 50p each - have just noticed my receipt says 64p each so will have to check that tomorrow. 2 ribenas at £1.38 and £1.41 (dif flavours) - this is supposed to be half price as it's a real treat only at full price. Also if I buy them now I get a chance to have some before the kids get home! Also 2 Fairy Liquids for £2, which is a saving of +80p. That's the only actual saving made today as the other prices were the ones I'd normally pay even if they were discounted.
Tomorrow's a day off - yay! - will Miggy make it as far as the mortgage overpayment?! LOL. Btw I've decided it's a bit much trying to keep track of the coin jar so how about if I just cash in whole pounds from that when I go to make the overpayment?
The dental bill is on track to get paid sooner rather than later, with these extra hours at work. I would like to get that out of the way early in September if I can get an appointment then.Miggy

Today was nearly a no-spend day only because I had to stay in waiting for a phone call. Then when DH got home we had to go and buy something to eat - well, when I say 'had to' there is still plenty in the freezer but time was short, the shop was near and I really didn't feel like sorting out freezer food.
We actually did quite well as there were some real bargains in the marked down food, but then we kind of counterbalanced that by both getting chocolate - not the cheapest choc either! Plus I forgot to take the receipt from yesterday to see if I can have my 28p back!
Tomorrow we both have a day off so I sense spending coming up - we are almost at the end of our 'just the two of us' time for now and we'll go somewhere to celebrate. We might even get some paint for the bathroom! Oh, the excitment!
Still resisiting Approved Food but I shall have to succumb soon or I won't get the dough balls... or all the calories contained therein...Miggy

Yesterday's day off cost £8 (plus petrol I guess but that's not my department) which was well spent as we went round Constable Burton Gardens. Being mid week it was quiet and for us a new place to explore.
In the evening DH had to be at work so we gave DS a tenner petrol money to take me to other DS's camp. This in itself was lovely though it took us a while to find: tucked away deep in a valley in the Dales. Stunning countryside and an impressive camp - these Scouts take their camping seriously! Sadly I didn't get a go on the pulley that crosses the river (not sure I really wanted one) but I wouldn't have minded a week like that myself, even if they did get woken by invading sheep.
Spent £1.50 on a plant pot cover and £2.52 at the Food Weighouse.
Tesco spend from Wednesday was £8.81 which was saving of +£4.50 on the southern fried chicken and +£2.50 on the bhajis. I wasn't sure how to factor in the chocolate, LOL, but I've decided it was a treat and to allow ourselves that!
Today I know I'll be giving DD's b/f petrol money as he is picking her up from Manchester when her flight gets in but as he's going instead of us it's only fair we help out. I also have some bits & pieces I need to buy from town so I had better stop diarising and go and get ready.
Oh, by the way - home grown potatoes started off all right but the ones we had the other day had to go in the bin! They were cracked inside and didn't seem to cook properly. Seems I need to do something about looking after them - I'm guessing they didn't have enough water when growing?Miggy
